Modern album, 11 x 11.5, containing approximately 64 tintypes from the 1860s through 1890s. Most are 1/6th plate, with some smaller (as small gem size) and larger (one is about cabinet card size). Most are standard studio portraits with high quality images and depict families, babies, and women and men in their finest attire. Several of the most interesting include a family in an early car, a gem sized 1860s jewelry tintype with the photo in a metal frame with hanging loop, two of pet dogs (one in studio and one outside with a boy), two of bathers in swimsuits, two of hunters with guns, one of a pair of young men holding money and smoking cigars, and one of a train conductor in uniform. Several of the tintypes are in their original carte-de-visite or cabinet-style paper holders. Most all are clean and well preserved with nice images. RR Auction COA.
