Unique candid color glossy 8 x 10 photo of Armstrong speaking at the 1994 Experimental Aircraft Association convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, signed and inscribed in blue felt tip “To Gary Lorenz, Neil Armstrong, Oshkosh ‘94.” In fine condition. The convention represented the largest-ever reunion of Apollo astronauts, and the discussion panel included the complete crews of Apollo 8 and 11. Armstrong stopped signing autographs in 1994, so when the consignor sent this photo to Armstrong with an autograph request, it was returned unsigned. However, upon a second attempt and a heartfelt letter, Armstrong sent back two signed photos. This is likely one of the last through-the-mail autographs obtained from the American icon. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the consignor detailing his quest. Pre-certified Steve Zarelli and RR Auction COA.
