Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Alma-Tadema seated in a chair with a pad in his lap, by Elliott and Fry of London, signed at the top of the image in black ink, “As the sun colours flowers, so art colours life. L. Alma-Tadema.” In very good condition, with light wrinkling and creasing to top corners, a bit lightly affecting end of signature, some light soiling to bottom border, and ink and pencil notations on reverse.
