Letter to “Mr. Director.” In full (translated): “Would you be so kind as to hold a private box for this evening for me—my wife would like to see the opera once more and I wish to be able to hear everything from inside the hall, because it is not really possible to get a correct total impression from behind the wings.” Double matted and framed with a portrait of the composer bearing a printed signature, to an overall size of 15.5 x 13.5.
