Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731–1796) and seventh President of the Continental Congress. Manuscript DS, signed “Sam. Huntington,” one page, 8 x 4, May 10, 1782. Huntington orders the treasurer of Connecticut to “pay Lynde Lord, Esq. Sheriff of Litchfield County eight pounds lawful money for distributing laws and proclamations the year past.” In very good condition, with vertical cancellation signature through small portion of last name of signature, several small spots of ink erosion, and mild show-through from docketing on reverse.
