ALS on the reverse of a 6.5 x 4.75 postcard depicting Ginsberg and Orlovsky, June 6, 1983. Gruff response to an autograph request. In full: “I’ve answered requests from some handwriting, for books, mss. & autographs, a number of times already, and now they are on the autograph market, being sold by stores. I begin to suspect a scam. I don’t have lots of photos around, I don’t have a fan club, but one overworked secretary. Send me, signed, your group photo with your nurses and maybe I’ll believe you are what you say you are. Either way good luck.” In very good condition, with a central vertical crease, affecting two letters in the signature. RRAuction COA.
