In part: “We do hereby authorize and Direct, That out of such Moneys as are or shall come to Your hands, for the Use of the reduced Officers of Our Land Forces and Marines, upon Half pay in Our Kingdom of Great Britain, You pay unto the said Lieutent. John Wharton the Sume of Two Shillings and Four pence a day for his Half Pay as a reduced Lieutenant of Foot in the room of Lieut. George Brereton provided by exchange as aforesaid.” Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered toning and soiling, repairs to reverse of one fold, mounting remnants to reverse, and a few small fold separations, otherwise very good condition.
