English portrait, landscape, and animal painter (1775–1862) who was a royal academician and president of the Society of Painters in Watercolours. Eleven ALSs, nine signed “R. R. Reinagle,” one signed “R. R. R.,” and one signed “Baron Reinagle,” total of 30 pages, various sizes from 3.5 x 4.5 to 7.5 x 9, dated between 1829 and 1850. Reinagle writes on a variety of topics, including a painting by Rembrandt, a lengthy autobiography, cleaning a copy of a Sir Joshua Reynolds painting, the sale of a painting for 100 guineas, painting during daylight hours versus at night by gaslight, a gallery exhibition, and a letter to future Prime Minister Robert Peel regarding a police force hire. In overall very good to fine condition, with light toning, slight separation to mailing folds, and a few small tears (some professionally repaired). RRAuction COA.
