English statesman and 1st Earl of Arlington (1618–1685) best known as a member of King Charles II’s ‘cabal’ ministry, where he primarily directed foreign affairs. Partial manuscript DS, signed “Arlington,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, January 16, 1673/4. Manuscript copy of a document that remained in Bennet’s office in Whitehall. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one horizontal fold passing through the signature, a light overall shade of toning, and top of document missing and professionally repaired with inlaid blank paper.
