Tokyo Rose

Pseudonym of Iva Toguri d’Aquino (1916–2006), she made propaganda broadcasts attempting to demoralize the Allied troops in the East during WWII. She was sentenced to 10 years in jail and a $10,000 fine for treason, but was pardoned by President Gerald Ford in 1977 after serving her sentence. FDC with a cachet honoring United Nation Day 1965, signed in blue ballpoint, “Iva Toguri.” In fine condition, with a central vertical fold and slight surface loss from a removed label.
