Postcard sent to Richard by his mother (August 1909) is worded in part: “My dear Dick, just a card to wish you many happy...of your Birthday, sorry I have nothing to send you...with love from mother." Postcard sent to Richard by his sister Addie (September 30, 1909) is worded in parts: “Dear D...you are collecting P.C, I have sent you one it is the new fountain. Ruth is still staying here. I hope you are quite well. We have been expecting to hear from you. I had a letter from Cecil last night he said he had been to see you. Please write soon, with love from us both.
