Italian composer (1858–1924) who earned a central place in the operatic pantheon with such repertoire staples as ‘La Bbheme,’ ‘Madama Butterfly,’ and ‘Tosca.’ Commanding vintage matte-finish sepia 6 x 8.5 portrait, signed and inscribed in Italian in fountain pen to “David M. Mandell,” adding “Torre del Lago, 1919.” Affixed to a board to an overall size of 9.5 x 12. In fine condition, with a couple of spots to the surface, and some separation from the board to the bottom edge (it could likely be removed from the board without damage). A superb Puccini piece from late in his career. RRAuction COA.
