In 1983, following his rise to popularity as the lead guitarist on David Bowie’s Let’s Dance album, Vaughan released his debut album, Texas Flood, and the following year he released Couldn’t Stand the Weather, a commercial and critical success. He continued to tour and record, until his death at the age of 35 in a 1990 helicopter crash. Felt tip signature and inscription, “To Merri, with love! Stevie Ray Vaughan ‘89,” on an off-white 5.5 x 4.25 sheet. Scattered light creases and wrinkles, and some light haloing to signature, otherwise fine condition.
