Ysaye (1858–1931) was considered the ‘King of the Violin’ and Elman was a Russian-born violinist known for his unique style and tone. Three rare embarkation cards, each one page, 6 x 4. One dated 1932, one 1924, and the third is not dated. Each embarkation card is filled out in pencil by the signer, two are from Mischa Elman and one is from Eugene Ysaye. Each document includes their full name, age, occupation “violinist,” and proposed address in the UK. Each are signed at the bottom in pencil. In overall very good to fine condition, with expected light corner wear from handling and moderate scattered foxing to two of the cards.
