On January 16, 1942, the plane in which Lombard was traveling en route to a war bond rally crashed into Mount Potosi near Las Vegas, killing all 22 aboard. Vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 13.5 photo, signed in fountain pen, “Most cordially, Carole Lombard.” Matted to an overall size of 16 x 20. Some mild rippling, a few light stains and surface dings, and a bit of light silvering to a couple darker portions of image, otherwise fine condition.
