Description

Rare and early MGM Records portrait of one of country music’s greatest stars

Legendary and highly influential country and western singer and songwriter (1923–1953). Vintage glossy 8 x 10 MGM Records publicity photo of Williams picking his guitar, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “Best of everything Beverly, Harriet & Gerry, Your pal, Hank Williams.” In fine condition, with a few scattered light creases and surface marks, a small spot of soiling, and a couple of trivial areas of surface loss along top edge. Williams was discovered by MGM Records' first president Frank Walker in 1948, and became the centerpiece of the label’s country music operations. Williams is quite elusive in signed photos. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
