German-American poet (1884–1962) who gained worldwide fame in the first decade of the twentieth century. He was also widely known as a pro-Nazi propagandist, organizing a gathering of 20,000 ‘Friends of New Germany’ at Madison Square Garden in 1934. After being indicted and convicted under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, Viereck was imprisoned from 1942–1947. Vintage ink signature and inscription, “For Charles E.
