Apollo 1 Flightline silver medallion, 1.25″ diameter, commemorating the Apollo 1 mission. The front features a raised design of the mission insignia and the reverse is engraved with the last names of astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee as well as “Apollo 1.” Unflown. Normal condition. This medallion was given to Wally Schirra by his friend Gus Grissom prior to the Apollo 1 accident. Originally offered by Odyssey in 1994, the medallion is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Schirra which reads, in part: “I Wally Schirra hereby state that (Apollo 1 Medallion)…is authentic.” A scarce momento of America's first space tragedy.
