Collection of approximately 52 letters and a telegram sent to Shepard, all sent to Shepard while at the United States Naval Academy, almost all from female ‘love interests,’ with a majority of the letters coming from Louise Brewer, his future wife of 53 years, with the letters dating from 1943–44. Most of Brewer’s letters are written from Principia College in Elash, Illinois. All the letters are accompanied by their original mailing envelopes.
