The noted French artist accents his letter with a full-page original sketch

Versatile French poet, playwright, film director, and artist (1889–1963); among his best-known works are the novel Les Enfants Terrible and the film La Belle et la Bête. ALS in French, signed “Jean,” one page, 8.25 x 10.5, March 24, 1953. Letter to “Cher Mary,” written from the South of France, giving news about his health and saying he knows nothing about Cambridge as all the letters addressed to him must be accumulating in Paris. On the page, Cocteau has added a full-page colored artist’s pencil sketch of a female. In fine condition, with central horizontal and vertical folds, and binder dings to right edge. A huge and colorful image. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
