Served as NBA Commissioner from 1975–1984, after serving as Postmaster General for Lyndon Johnson. The NBA Championship trophy was renamed for O’Brien in 1984. Two items: matte-finish 8 x 10 head-and-shoulders photo, signed and inscribed in the lower border, “For Ben Braude—with kindest regards and best wishes for the future. Lawrence O’Brien, 9-15-77”; and a TLS, signed “Lawrence O’Brien,” one page, 8.5 x 11, NBA letterhead, September 17, 1977, acknowledging the photo. In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
