Description

Keller writes to an American guide dog pioneer

TLS, signed in pencil, one page, 7 x 10, Arcan Ridge letterhead, August 10, 1955. Letter to seeing eye dog pioneer Morris Frank. In full: “It was a delightful greeting you sent me on my last birthday, as it were with a lick of darling Buddy’s tongue. My thanks to you both are none the less warm for being delayed by extra work which resulted from my world tour. With a love-pat for Buddy and cordial greetings to yourself.” Matted and framed with a newspaper clipping regarding the Seeing Eye Dog FDC, a newspaper photo of Frank at the ceremony, a Seeing eye Dog FDC (signed by Frank), and a mailing envelope, to an overall size of 24.5 x 23. In fine condition, with a few wrinkles, and some light toning along right side of letter. Frank was the first person to use a guide dog in the United States in 1929. Oversized. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
