Christmas card from 1936, signed “Jerome Salinger,” measuring 5.75 x 5 closed. Inside bears a pre-printed sentiment and is boldly signed at the conclusion, “Jerome Salinger.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Salinger’s hand to “Miss Patte Nielson [sic],” and postmarked December 20, 1936. In fine condition, with some scattered light creasing and soiling. Accompanied by a photocopied letter of provenance from the daughter of Nielsen explaining the relationship between her mother and Salinger. A very early example with his seldom-seen full signature.
