Description

Beatles

Let It Be UK premiere ticket, 5.5 x 4.5. In very good condition, with scattered creasing, a tear to the bottom edge, and scattered soiling on the reverse. The film had simultaneous premieres in London and Liverpool, the London opening held at the Pavilion, Piccadilly Circus on May 20, 1970. While the documentary, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, follows The Beatles as they rehearse and record songs for the album in January 1969, the highlight is the impromptu, unannounced rooftop concert atop their Saville Row headquarters. The film was originally planned as a television special which would accompany a concert broadcast; when plans for a broadcast were dropped, the project became a feature film. Although the film, which won an Oscar for Original Song Score, does not dwell on the dissension within the group at the time, it provides some glimpses into the dynamics that would lead to The Beatles' break-up.
