Somerset Maughan,” “Upton Sinclair,” and “Earl Stanley Gardner” (ins), on individual cards and an album page, ranging in size from 5 x 3 to 6 x 4.5; and a bank check, 7 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and made payable to John Burroughs for $250.00, December 14, 1868, with an endorsement from Burroughs on the reverse. In very good condition, with mild to moderate toning, a central vertical crease running through one letter in Gardner’s signature, and the expected cancellation cuts and stamps to the check, none of which affect Burroughs’ signature.
