German composer (1838-1920) who wrote over 200 works, one of which is a staple of the violin repertoire. AMQS on an off-white 7 x 4.5 sheet. Bruch pens seven bars that he identifies as “I. Violin concert (Op. 26),” and headed at the top, “Adagio.” Signed and inscribed at the bottom, “Max Bruch, Berlin, 17 Oct. 1892. Mme la Princesse Helene Bibesco.” Sheet is affixed to a 10.5 x 7 album page, with a large AMQS by Georges Mathias on the reverse, also inscribed to Princess Bibesco. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold, and some light toning from adhesive. RRAuction COA.
