ALS signed “M. Van Buren,” one page, lightly-lined, 7.25 x 9.75, August 14, 1852. Letter to A. C. Stewart. In part: “I cheerfully comply with your request as far as it is in my power to do so. I am not certain that Mrs. Wright is the administratrix of her late husband’s estate but presume she is. Mr. Wright left no children & she’s full heir to the principal part of his estate. Her address is Mrs. Clarisa Wright…A communication addressed to her would I am certain answer your proposal.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, and a bit of scattered light toning. Silas Wright was a Congressman and Senator from New York. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
