ALS signed “Saml Griffin,” one page, 8 x 9.75, August 8, 1802. Letter of introduction sent to Nicholas Low. In part: “From the well known politeness and attention of your good lady & Yourself, to strangers who may visit your City, I take the liberty to recommend to your notice & civility, Mr. & Mrs. Wickham of Virginia, who are known in N York. Mr. Wickham is a gentleman…of fortune & one of our most respectable Law Counselors.” Second integral page bears an address panel in Griffin’s hand.
