French writer (1824–1895), the illegitimate son of famed novelist Alexandre Dumas. The younger Dumas novel La Dame aux Camelias became the basis of Verdi’s opera ‘La Traviata.’ Untranslated ALS in French, signed “A. Dumas,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 5, no date, personal letterhead. In very good condition, with scattered toning and light areas of foxing, a couple of small tack holes, and pieces of reparative tape to some areas of separation along the hinge. RRAuction COA.
