Stephen Wheeler

US commissioner for the Western district of Arkansas. Partly-printed DS, one page, 14 x 8.5, November 16, 1891. An order for reimbursement for White Johnson and Foreman Adair for $10 and $14 respectively appearing before Wheeler in the case of the United States vs. Eli Dick, for a charge of “Introducing Liquors into the Indian Country.” Signed at the conclusion by Wheeler as United States Commissioner. In fine condition, with three vertical folds, one through a single letter of signature, a uniform shade of toning, and a bit of scattered light soiling. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
