Responding to an employment inquiry from a Miss Caroline Barrows, Kelly writes, in full: “I received your letter and I am sorry that at the present time there is no vacancy on the Palace staff. I shall, however, make inquiries, and if there is a possibility of finding someone nice who needs a secretary I shall ask them to get in touch with you.
