ADS, one page, 7.75 x 6, May 26, 1840. An oath stating Thomas Patterson had a certificate for the scalp of an old wolf. In full (with spelling retained): “To wit this day came Thomas Patterson before me Allen T. Crockett a Justice of the Pease and made oath that he had in his possession a certificate for the scalp of an old wolf which was provin before William H. Spille for the benefit of William Pendleton which has been lost or mis laid given under my hand.” In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered light toning, and a rough bottom edge.
