Blank and unissued receipt for a payment on a league of land in the Austin colony, 7.5 x 3.5, no date, but 1830s. Land costs were $2.50 per Labor of farming land, and $1.20 per Labor for pasturing land. Written on the reverse in an unknown hand, “Wm. Kincheloe’s account for $3.50 not received, although it is in the schedule.” Moderate toning, heavier to left edge of front, and lightly affecting note on reverse, otherwise fine condition.
