Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1734–1817) who later served as a Revolutionary War officer, delegate to the Continental Congress, and Governor of Pennsylvania. Partly-printed DS, signed “Tho: M:Kean,” one page, 13 x 4, March 30, 1799. Order for “the body of Robert Leyburn in our prison, under your custody, as it is said, detained by whatever name the said Robert Leyburn may be charged in the same, under safe and secure conduct.” Signed at the conclusion by McKean.
