Description

Ford presents a ceremonial pen to a congressman honoring the naming of a VA hospital

TLS, as president, signed “Jerry Ford,” one page, 6.75 x 9, White House letterhead. Letter to Congressman Carlos J. Moorhead of California. In full: “Last week H.R. 4034, which designates the Veterans Administration Hospital in Loma Linda as the ‘Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans’ Hospital,’ came to my desk for approval. Through my affirmative action I was privileged to help make possible this very appropriate memorial to our great friend and colleague. He worked diligently to make this hospital a reality, and through your action you have recognized his efforts on behalf of his fellow men. I am pleased to send you a ceremonial pen as a memento of the legislative success of you and your colleagues.” Accompanied by the ceremonial pen. The navy blue barrel pen is imprinted in silver with the words “The White House” and signature “Gerald R. Ford.” The silver cover is engraved “Parker” and “Made in U.S.A.” and comes in its original box. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
