Description

Accompanied by its desirable, yet seldom-seen, original mailing tube.

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “Woodrow Wilson,” one page, 16 x 19.75, August 6, 1914. President Wilson appoints Owen R. Meredith First Lieutenant of Infantry. Rolled and in very good condition, with light creasing and rippling, toning around the edges and scattered spots of discoloration. Blue seal affixed to bottom left has a crease through the top half where it has come detached from the document, but is still intact. As one might expect, original mailing tubes for documents such as this were generally discarded after opening making them decided uncommon and rarely encountered today. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
