Portion of an unused Apollo communications control assembly which would have been connected to the exterior of an astronaut’s spacesuit and used for routing communications, biomedical signals, and warning tones. This piece is the control head, referred to as the ‘Cobra Head’ by the astronauts. Beta cloth covered piece measures 11” long with a toggle switch which allowed the astronaut to transmit to crew mates over the intercom (I’COM) or to the earth (XMIT).
