Description

One-of-a-kind cast page from Bogart’s 1928 Philly performance of ‘Saturday’s Children’

Custom-made cast page, 5.25 x 7.75, boldly signed in fountain pen by Humphrey Bogart, Ruth Gordon, and five other cast members of a January 26, 1928, performance of Saturday’s Children at the Adelphi Theatre in Philadelphia. The page is tipped into a hardcover copy of Maxwell Anderson’s play. The page rates fine condition with light toning and a brief collector notation at the bottom; the book rates otherwise fine with toning, mirroring of a Ruth Gordon image affixed to the title page, and some soiling to the boards. After a considerable struggle as an actor, Bogart achieved considerable recognition with his role in this comedy...an ironic start to a legendary career in drama. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
