Steiner agrees to score the somber All Mine to Give

Prolific Austrian-born American film composer (1888–1971) who won three Academy Awards from a total of 26 nominations. Among his best-known scores are those for King Kong, Gone With the Wind, and Casablanca. DS, eight pages, 8.5 x 13, September 7, 1956. Agreement between Steiner and RKO Radio Pictures for Steiner to “write, compose, arrange, and conduct the complete musical score…for the motion picture photoplay now entitled ‘The Day They Gave Babies Away.’” Steiner will receive $10,000 for the score and will receive single card credit in all prints of the film’s credits. Signed on the last page by Steiner, who has also initialed the first page two times. In fine condition, with staples to top edges, expected notations and stamps, and light handling wear.
