Partly-printed DS as president, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 17 x 13, May 16, 1889. President Harrison appoints James H. Clugage Postmaster of Sullivan, Indiana. Signed at the bottom by Harrison, and countersigned by Postmaster general John Wanamaker. Document is affixed to an identical size board. In fair condition, with handwritten portions of text and Wanamaker’s signature traced over, uniform toning, several tears, intersecting folds, and a few edge chips.
