Scarce portrait of the most famous woman in the suffragette movement

Pioneering American social activist (1820–1906) who was one of the leading figures in early feminism and whose efforts on behalf of women’s suffrage were instrumental in the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. Rare vintage 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet portrait of Anthony in intense profile by Veeder of Albany, New York, signed in black ink, “Susan B. Anthony.” In very good condition, with an irregulary shaped stain at the lower left corner and near the top right side, scattered light soiling, rubbing. and a few brushes to the signature.
