Description

Shortly before the Stock Market crash, the former president shares confidential information

ALS, one page, 7 x 10.25, personal letterhead, June 4, 1929. Letter to friend and businessman Darwin Kingsley. In full: “Your letter and wire have come. I am glad your gathering was so much a success and deeply sorry I had to be away. Confidentially I had a bad fall and fractured my wrist. It is getting along all right but is not in good shape to take away from home. I hope I can be present June 12 but cannot tell yet.” In fine condition, with pencil notation to top left and a few light creases and wrinkles. A crisply-penned example just three months after leaving office. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
