“I cannot spend the remnant of my life autographing books—mostly for people who don’t read them”

ANS signed “G. Bernard Shaw,” one page, 5.5 x 3.5, November 28, 1946. Short note written under a pre-printed message providing his reasoning for not providing autographs. Under the message, Shaw writes: “This is provoked by your friend R. T. Oliver. I cannot spend the remnant of my life autographing books—mostly for people who don’t read them.” Notecard is affixed to an 8.5 x 5.5 book page. In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light toning. Accompanied by the hardcover copy of His Life and Personality from which the page was removed. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
