Description

A direct ancestor of two presidents

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Virginia (1726-1791). Harrison was the father of President William Henry Harrison and great-grandfather of President Benjamin Harrison. ADS, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 7.5 x 3.5, 1769. Handwritten receipt for £51.3.9 for 100 barrels of corn, signed at the bottom by Harrison. Document is affixed to a slightly larger board. In very good condition, with two complete vertical separations, toning to left and bottom edge, including over signature, and paper loss to right edge. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
