Description

“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord”

Author, suffragette, dramatist, poet, and biographer (1819–1910), best remembered as the lyricist of ‘Battle Hymn of the Republic.’ Desirable AQS on a heavy cream 5 x 3.25 card, signed “Julia Ward Howe, May 1896.” The first line from “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” In full: “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.” A couple very faint trivial smudges and mounting traces to reverse, otherwise fine, bright condition. An excellent presentation of one of the nation’s most recognizable and patriotic songs. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
