Scarce partial self-contained partly-printed DS as president, signed “Z. Taylor,” one page, 8.25 x 3.75, September 26, 1849. Bottom portion of a naval appointment signed by Taylor and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy William B. Preston. In very good condition, with two vertical folds, one through a single letter of signature, trimmed edges, a few wrinkles, and toning to edges. Any Taylor presidential document is quite uncommon, as he served only 16 months before he died suddenly on July 9, 1850. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
