Karl Spooner

Joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954 and pitched back-to-back shutouts against the Giants and Pirates, striking out 27 batters. He retired the next season due to injury. Uncommon vintage ink signature and inscription, “To Dave, Best wishes and luck always, Karl Spooner,” on an off-white 5.5 x 3.25 government postcard (postmarked 8/3/57). Mounting remnants to reverse, postal cancellations through portion of inscription, and some scattered light soiling, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
