French neo-impressionist painter (1863-1935) who, working with Georges Seurat, helped develop the Pointillist style. ALS in French, signed “P. S.,” one page both sides, 5.25 x 8.5, Société des artistes letterhead, no date. Letter to his close friend Charles Henry regarding the death of his mother. In full (translated): “Yes, my dear Henry. I would be so glad to see you again. So, please feel free to come home, one of the next days, when you want. If Erica and Ivo can come with you, it would be great. We will talk. We see each other too rarely. And you are one of the persons that I like, my dear Henry. Since the death of my dear mother, I have transferred all my personal affection to the persons who bring me kindness, like she did to me. And you are one of these rare persons.” Uniform shade of toning, creasing along bottom edge, and a bit of light soiling, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
