American soldier and politician (1835–1905), nephew of Robert E. Lee, who was a Confederate cavalry general during the Civil War and a general during the Spanish-American War. In the interval between the two wars, Lee served as Governor of Virginia and Consul General at Havana. Ink signature, “Fitzhugh Lee, Richmond Va., Jan 14 – 1904,” on an off-white 3.5 x 2.25 card.
