Description

Allen Ginsberg

Original broadside, 8.5 x 14, featuring Ginsberg’s poem regarding the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago and his poetry reading at Grant Park. In part: “Green air, children sit under trees with the old bodies bare, eyes open to eyes under the hotel wall, the ring of brown clothed bodies armed but silent at ease leaned on their rifles. Harsh sound of microphones, helicopters roar. A current in the belly, future marches and detectives naked in bed. Where? On the planet, not Chicago, in late sunlight.” Signed in black ink, “Allen Ginsberg,” at the bottom of the page. Edge creasing, scattered toning, and staining near the top left edge, otherwise very good condition. RRAuction COA.
